The "Chunk Paragraph"

The "Chunk Paragraph" format is what we use when answering study questions. Think of it as a hamburger. A hamburger has many different layers. So should your responses to study questions.

Question: Why is television a valuable resource?


(TS) Television is a valuable resource because it provides a form of relaxation. (TR) For example, (CD) Robert McNeil said, "the trouble with television is that it discourages concentration." (CM) This shows that people who are busy concentrating all day long might want to watch television so they do not have to concentrate any further. (CS) Therefore, watching television is a valuable form of relaxation.

Question: Why is television a valuable resource?


(TS) Television is a valuable resource because it provides a form of relaxation after busy days. (TR) For example, (CD) Robert McNeil said, "the trouble with television is that it discourages concentration." (CM -1 ) This shows that people who are  concentrating all day long might want a way to escape their hectic schedules. (CM - 2) This quote also shows that after a long day at school, followed by homework and other activities, watching television is a relaxing reward for them. (CS) Therefore, watching television is a valuable form of relaxation.
